E.T. was the 1st movie that I cried while watching. I was 10 or 11 yrs old. Pat Bilon was the guy in the E.T. costume. He and I share the hometown of Youngstown, Ohio in the U.S. I met him a few times back in the 80’s. And I have his autograph on a post card that he gave me.

That was super interesting to learn about the Athabasca dunes. Cool.

My most adventurous outing was visiting Bamako, Mali in W. Africa. It was in the early 2000’s and I was in graduate school. I traveled to Mali to present my research at a conference. A great, long story that life event; but the most exciting part was when our group was supposed to take a side trip to Timbuktu. However, we found out that there had been bandits along the road to Timbuktu that were hijacking and taking hostages. So, it’s my ‘I almost made it to Timbuktu’ story.

Another great episode!

For clarification, the Athabasca sand dunes are not the Great Sand Hills. Those are in southwest Saskatchewan, south of Cabri.

Correction to my correction, west of Cabri, south of Sceptre.

Another excellent mid week rambler Brent! I remember you looked pretty cool with mustache (and mittonchops - I think) in Corner Gas episode"Rock On". Will that help you to decide whether or not to grow superfluous hair follicles?

Also, loving the moustache - go for it.

Gotta say, Brent. It looks like you are broadcasting live from the Milestone bar.

Why do Canadians pronounce decal, deckle? I vote no on the mustache. Does Nancy get a vote? Were you ever starstruck by anyone, actor or Canadian celebrity, that showed up on Corner Gas?

Re: beautiful movies.....If I'm thinking of beautiful movies, photographically, I think of Witness with Harrison Ford. Ive only seen it twice and both times I was taken with the images. Other than that the best was Zefferillis' 1968 Romeo and Juliet. That one I have watch countless times. So many times that I wore the VHS tape out and had to pay a lot of money to get a bootleg DVD version.

My scariest adventure. Did a 2-week wrestling tour in Lebanon in the summer of 1992. They took our passports at the airport, rushed us through a side door under military escort, somehow skipping immigration. Then at the last show in Tyre (An outdoor show, a tent was our locker room) maybe 50 feet from me a dude got shot (I saw him fall), and they rushed us out of the venue, back to our hotel, with our guards hanging out the windows of the bus, with guns drawn. In the morning you could hear gun fire and bombs going off in the distance, as they escorted us out of Tyre to Beirut. We also got stiffed on the bulk of our pay, and I broke a rib on one show. Good times.

Yikes! That reminds me of something I said to a fellow comic when we were playing a skeezy roadhouse in Ontario. "Sure, the show's gonna suck and we may be murdered, but at least there's a good chance we'll get stiffed on the dough."

Wasn't there a "Corner Gas" episode where you chewed on a toothpick, had a moustache, and wore a black work shirt...like "Evil Brent", I think. Didn't look too bad, a little sinister. Best TV moustaches were probably Ernie Kovacs and Hal Linden( Barney Miller).

Black shirt and toothpick, yes, but no moustache. I absolutely agree with Kovac's moustache. One of the all time best 'staches!

The second facial hair overlay looked just like you in the episode where Corner Gas had no gas and became a Brothel, if I remember correctly.

With a mustache I get a "Da Bears" feeling. 😄 Did feel like a "polish sausage" at the moment? (Chicago calls YOU!) 😉

It's rare that I WOULDN'T feel like a polish sausage.

I am a little confused by the moniker Sue Peacock. What has Peacock (NBC tv) ever done to you? I admit I considered suing NBC when they cancelled Pink Lady and Jeff. And I'm still a little miffed that Huntley and Brinkley aren't on the news desk anymore. And in regards to facial hair, nothing beats a beard and moustache when a fellow goes bald.

I imagine doing stand-up comedy in a roadhouse is similar to my experiences teaching Statistics: (almost) no one wanted to hear what I had to say, and they hated me for saying it! :-)

I hate when people say to get out of your comfort zone. Why!? It's comfortable!

Also, I think being "out of their comfort zone" actually IS their comfort zone, so in fact they are doing what they are comfortable with. Not sure that makes sense...

It made my day to see this in my emails. Been a tough few weeks. Seriously. Like getting a hello from a friend. : ) When you "were yourself in 20 years" on the Corner G, you were kicking it in a lawnchair, (holding a rye?), with a mustache if I recall. I think it looked nice.

I would have been left wondering about the word “deckle” had it not been for an episode of Corner Gas wherein the term was used by Davis and there was a subsequent discussion. I love our differences in pronunciations between lovely Canada and the lower 48.

And……if I may be allowed a vote, don’t adulterate that beautiful face with a ‘stache.
